My wonderful cat, Bailey, left us on Dec. 16th and I still at times find myself in tears. For some reason this has been the hardest pet that I have lost, maybe because I am much older now. I miss him so much. He developed diabetes and with insulin injections still went downhill very fast. Can’t believe all the weight he lost in just a few months. He could no longer be called fat cat.

It was nice to Have Bowser-Minich and Anne to do the creamation. Bailey’s asheds will now be buried with me. Some people think I am nuts, but to people that own pets that is not so.

Till we meet again Bailey, I love and miss you.

On Jan.5,2010 we lost our baby. Duchess was the most loving soul. She loved people, other animals and babies were like her own. We got her from a shelter, I fell in love at first sight! She was beautiful, black an white, with the most clear lite blue eyes I’ve ever seen, everyone fell in love with them and her. She loved the snow! She would push the snow with her nose trying to make snowballs …to eat them!! Or “Daddy” would make them and throw them so she could chass em and eat them. A wonderful picture to watch an remember. She helped me get thru an illness that would put me in bed,she would lay beside me till I felt better, always a comfort. While my husband has to be out of town for his job,she was my company,we would do so much together, I miss the nites snuggle time watching tv. We miss her so much, and its just little things that make me cry ,like getting ice cubes, she loved to munch them,an waitted to get hers. I feel like the knot in my chest will never go away, and in all the years being with my husband I’ve never seen him cry so much. She will always be in our hearts, but we both never want to have to make that decision ever again, she got sick and we did what we thouhgt the best for her ,as we didn’t want her to sick or in pain any more, but the pain of her head in my lap an her eyes blank just isn’t going to ease. I want everyone to know that Anne made us feel comfort from the start, and treated Duchess with such respect and compassion. She gave us the same, and her understanding of our feelings helped us thru one of the worst times of our lives!!!

Mocha came into my life 12 1/2 years ago, on July 11, 1997. I picked her up on a Friday afternoon from my brother’s garage where Cinder and her 6 pups were kept in a plywood boxed in area. From that day forward, everyday seemed like a new day with Mocha. My vet explained to me that he believed labs brains were in upside down. Although, Mocha was a very intelligent best friend, sometimes the things she did never ceased to amaze me and up until a few weeks before her passing, on most days she acted as if she was still that little brown puppy. Mocha became ill and had to be put to sleep on Halloween, 2009. That day was one of the crappiest days of my life. I want to thank Ann for being there for all of us and making the loss of my beloved Mocha more tolerable. And I want to thank Cheryl and Sara for their support throughout most of Mocha’s life and for their support through that rough Halloween weekend. Mocha, please know that we miss you very much (Tigger especially misses you)!

Kelly became part of my family 12.5 years ago. My husband and I were at a flea market and there she was a beautiful russet and white serbian husky puppy. It was love at first sight. {Never thought I’d buy a dog at a flea market…let alone a husky in Florida.} Some words to describe her…. easier said then done. She exemplified loyalty { even if this was to my late husband}she loved to go for car rides, not to mention her love of tennis balls. She experienced good health most of her life, she developed glaucoma and I had her eye removed about two years ago, boy you would never know it, she still liked to romp around with her younger pal a 5 year old beagle. She was laid to rest with her “dad” and will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

I hope my owner, Suzie, is typing this in the right format for all to view. Last time she only sent it to Jean. We joined July 6th and have been to the park about 12 times, but only met others on 3 of these occasions. We tend to visit the park anywhere from 3:30 to as late as & 7:00 and try to stay an hour. (She checks papers when she gets bored as she’s teaching summer school right now and when I get bored, I look for the rabbit I saw the first day or wade in the pool.) Lately we’ve seen some new stuff and I’ve learned how to weave through the poles and have jumped through the hoop 4 times with much coaxing from Suzie. Please don’t “make me jump through hoops” to schedule a play date with one of you other dogs. I get along well with dogs of all sizes, so don’t let my Doberman appearance intimidate you! So far we’ve enjoyed meeting Jean with Sparky and Mindy and Hershey and his owner, and Floyd and his owner. (Suzie needs to start getting the humans’ names as well as the dogs’ names=Sorry!) Suzie tells me that Anne sent a letter to try to coordinate play dates. I hope it works! We hope to see you soon. Please respond if attending the park Thurs., July 30 or Friday, July 31 and let us know what time suits you after 3:30. Suzie and Addie

It has been 5 weeks since I lost my beloved Mollie. While time has dulled the acute pain of losing her, there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of and miss her. Mollie was my ”sweet girl”, my first Golden, my friend. Her 13th birthday just passed on March 5th and I am reminded of all the birthdays, holidays and just ordinary days that we shared. I wish I had just one more day to share with her, to talk to her, pet her soft face and see her smile.

Mollie came to our family at 8 weeks of age and she grew up with our daughter. She was a member of our family and lived with us for almost 13 years. When we brought her home I remember that she cried, almost howled, the whole way home-so sad to be separated from her mother and her litter mates. For the first week or so, every time we fed her she would gobble down her food-almost inhaling it-until she realized that no one else was going to eat it.

When Mollie was about 6 months old she developed bright red rectal bleeding each time she went to the bathroom. I took her to several vets, completing several courses of antibiotics and evaluations of multiple stool samples. We were getting ready to do a colonoscopy when a new vet did an exam and removed a piece of mulch from her rectum. She never had the bleeding again and we replaced all the mulch at our house with river rock.

Mollie and I attended basic obedience classes when she was about a year old. She did great and even won the graduation ping pong ball relay race. True to her Golden roots she was affectionate and eager to please. Easy to train and gentle. She was patient and an excellent listener. During difficult times she was such a comfort to me. I miss talking to her most of all. I often find myself teary eyed at the most unexpected times when a thought, or a memory pops into my mind. So many times I wish I had more time with her, but in all honesty, another lifetime with her would not be enough.

Anne, and everyone at Bowser Minich were so kind to us at such a difficult time. I cannot thank them enough for every thing they did. Anne’s genuine concern for my grief was so touching and such a comfort. I take comfort in my memories and will always hold my sweet girl in my heart.

The first few years were interesting to say the least… He was kind of, well lets just say, a monster. In the best sense of the word. He was known to eat window sills, books, leather jackets, mattresses and even a box of vivarin… yeah, that was a fun night!

But just look how cute that little terror was!

Now fast forward to his adult life… Now the description of big Dave gets more complex. What a guy he was. 120lbs of gentle giant. One very cool, laid back, confident guy. Always knew he was number two male in the pack and definitely confident he was alpha male dog. Being the gentle giant he was, he never felt the need to push his position. So many times dogs half Dave’s size would come along and try to tell him they were boss… I’ll never forget seeing Dave standing in the back yard with a miniature doberman hanging by its teeth from his neck… Big Dave just looked at me and said, I don’t want to hurt him, can you get this kid away from me? :) That was his M.O. He just had that confident, gentle, laid back attitude that those of you that knew Dave, loved about him.

By the time Dave reached his golden years, his human sister Lilly arrived on the scene. By this point in time Dave was completely set in his ways and had the run of the house. You would expect some conflict when introducing such an element… But not for Dave. Patience of a saint.

Dave’s sister Kelly was his constant companion for 13 years. Kelly and Dave are together again after just a short time apart.

My name is Ben. I’m Dave’s dad. We shared a unique bond. We had the same birthday, and everything about us was similar. So similar in fact that it was very common for people to call us both by the other’s name. I would always answer to “Dave” as if it were a compliment. His loyalty and companionship is deeply missed. I really appreciate Bowserminichpet.com and Anne for for their support in this loss.
